IC OOC "IN CHARACTER" " OUT OF CHARACTER"

Here on LotS one of the first things you as a new, or even experienced
player, will need to be able to differentiate between is
IN CHARACTER
(IC) and OUT OF CHARACTER (OOC) actions and scenarios. This helpfile
is intended as a set of basic guidelines to help you adhere to this.

If your
CHARACTER would not say it, do it, or know it, it is NOT IC.
Ignorance is no longer going to be an excuse for misusing channels.
If you still find yourself wondering, your best bet is to
ASK on
the
OOC channel whether an action is considered in or out of character,
rather than carrying on ahead with it.

Mentioning any of the topics considered
IN CHARACTER on an OOC channel
is frowned upon, and repeated misuse can and will lead to a punishment
being handed out to those responsible. The first repeat offence will be a
warning noted down on your character record, the second will be far
less fun.
